Circle Oaks County Water District Emergency Response Unit

Reliable water for the Lake Berryessa area—especially when it matters most

The Circle Oaks County Water District (COCWD) serves as the primary water source for the Lake Berryessa area during emergency situations. To safeguard our community, COCWD established an Emergency Response Unit dedicated to maintaining critical water infrastructure so that water continues to flow for residents and emergency services when challenges arise.

Why the Emergency Response Unit exists

Emergencies can place intense pressure on water systems—wildfires, power disruptions, and other incidents demand quick, coordinated action. Recognizing this, the Circle Oaks County Water District formed the Emergency Response Unit to focus exclusively on emergency readiness and rapid response.

What the unit does

The unit is trained to maintain and protect the district’s water infrastructure during emergencies. Its core responsibility is straightforward yet vital: ensuring that water remains available for residents and for first responders throughout an incident and during recovery.

  • Stabilizing water delivery so households and essential services retain access.
  • Coordinating closely with emergency services to support firefighting and medical needs.
  • Assessing system conditions and addressing issues that could interrupt flow.

Commitment to the community

The COCWD Emergency Response Unit's mission centers on community protection. By dedicating trained personnel and clear procedures to emergency operations, the district strengthens local resilience and shortens the path to normal service after a crisis.
